Today Cara is six months old! Like everything, the time just flew by. Just 6 months ago I was giving birth to the most beautiful little girl - she was tiny and sweet and so absolutely wonderful. She continues to be sweet and wonderful, but tiny?, no not tiny. Our sweet babe is a chunky monkey..weighing in at 19 pounds this month and 26 inches long.
I remember the nurses asking me if I was going to nurse her. I said I was going to try - I did not hold out much hope for it, as how does one nurse a baby with two boys running around and a crazy, busy schedule? Well, 6 months later, my cherub is still nursing exclusively. Not only that, the little angel wants nothing to do with a bottle (which is hard, too).
I remember being a bit terrified of this newborn, afterall the boys were toddlers when I became a Mommy. I promised myself that I would not let her see my fear and just plod through like I knew what I was doing. Well, 6 months later, its working!
The last 6 months have been incredible and yes, I finally feel like my family is complete!
So, onto what Cara has been up to...
she rolls over, back to front and front to back
she is wearing 9 month clothing
she loves the bath (otherwsie known as her spa time)
she is head over heels for her brother Luca
she flirts with Daddy
she laughs at Jax who calls her B - rah
she melts my heart
she is almost sitting up on her own
she likes pears and sweet potatoes
she nurses every 3 hours still
she DOES NOT sleep through the night yet
she finds Cooper and Gunner fascinating
she loves talking Elmo
she loves her Intellitainer and her doll
she's had her first cold/fever
she's been to the Jersey Shore
she's taking her first plane ride in 2 weeks
she enjoys boating (well, mostly the fact that someone is always holding her)
she was baptized this past weekend
she is sweet and sooooo LOVED....we could not be happier to have this miracle in our lives!
Happy 6 months, Cara Juliet. You melt my heart each time I look at you. I am forever blessed to have you as my daughter. I love you to the moon and back!
Vodka, Caviar, and Apple Pie
We are the Esposito's - clearly not your typical Russian last name, but the light of our lives are Russian - Luca Yuri was born in Ekaterinburg, Russia on July 14, 2004, and joined our family on October 25, 2005. Jaxon Artyom was born February 21, 2007 in Balashikha, Russia. He arrived home on March 22, 2008. Completing our family is Cara Juliet, aka Apple Pie. She arrived March 24, 2009 - our miracle baby.

Brothers
How life changes when one goes off to school for the day. Jaxon is having a hard time :( He spends most of the morning constantly asking if its time to get Luca yet. No, I was not prepared for this. I figured he'd be a "pig in mud" with Luca gone all day. He would have free reign on all of Luca's toys, he wouldn't have to share any of them, etc. No, he clearly misses his partner in crime! When we pick Luca up he is pushing me out of the way so he can see and say hi to Luca first. Yesterday, he gave him a big hug. So, what is a boy to do without his brother? Why, look below....first, we try and take a bite out of our sister - afterall she is sweet! (no, he did not actually bite her) and then we have to make time to nurse Elmo! Luckily, we start music and library hour soon, so hopefully Jax will find his own little niche while big bro is in school.
First Day Of Kindergarten
Yes, late as usual...the first day of K was back at the end of August :) Luca was excited and anxious, all rolled up together. The best thing we ever did was to send him to Pre-K at the public school - he's been here at this school for 2 years now, so he knows the lay of the land, and as we found out, everyone knows him, too!
So, three weeks later, he is loving school! The other day it was pouring rain, so instead of walking him to the playground area, I had to drop him at the front door. Jax and Cara were also in the car, so I opened the door for him and ran to get the heavy door of the school building. I pointed to an adult he knew and said, "Ask Miss Pam where you go since it is raining". I was so nervous that he would get upset and not know where to go. He turned to me and said, "Don't worry, everyone knows me, I think I might actually be famous here" I think I just starred at him and he finished by saying, "Mom, I am OK, you will be too, now go, cause Cara and Jax are in the car and they need you". OK, what 5 year old talks to his Mom like this?! I kissed him and cried all the way to the car and all the way home. My little boy is ALL GROWN UP - I am thrilled at how independent and confident he is, but a tad sad, as he is growing up so fast.

Thoughts of a 5 year old...
Today, for the first time I had two children napping at the same time! Yep, 2 out of 3 - not bad :) Jax was passed out on his bed and Cara was in a "milk coma" on my lap. I did not dare move her, as she tends to wake (lately) as soon as I transfer her to another sleeping place. So, Luca and I decided to just hang out on the couch and watch some Cake Boss episodes we had DVRed. If you have not seen Cake Boss you are missing out - we LOVE this show. Even Luca is into the Cake Boss and the amazing cakes they make at Carlo's Bakery. So, as with most "Luca talks" this one starts innocently enough -
Luca - Did you and Daddy have a wedding cake with candles?
Me - No, most wedding cakes don't have candles, buddy.
Luca - Well that is too bad - candles would make it even more fun.
Me - I am sure it would.
Luca - I am having candles on my Batman wedding cake.
Me - Cool! You are going to have a Batman wedding cake?
Luca - Yep, sure am.
Me - Not sure how your wife would feel about that.
Luca- She will love it!
Me - Really?
Luca - Well, yeh, I am going to marry Super Woman.
Me - Really, does this super woman have a name?
Luca - (looking at me strangely now) Yeh - Super. Woman. Batman. Esposito. The Esposito part will be new, you know, after she marries me.
So there you go! Some lucky lady out there doesn't know it yet, but she will be called Super Woman and will be feasting on a Batman cake at her wedding. Can't wait to meet my daughter-in-law :)

Watermat Fun!
Early in the boating season, Nick happened to see this very cool watermat (think large, floating mat you can walk, run, jump, lounge, etc. on) that fellow boaters had. He looked it up on the internet when we returned from our day on the lake only to find that it was way to $$$$$$ - even if it was a whole lot of fun. So, thinking outside the box, he decided to get some friends just as excited about the watermat as he was. From there, the idea of part ownership in the watermat evolved. In a week's time we became 1/3 part owner's of this very cool watermat. And boy, is it the coolest thing ever. Check it out!

Singing in The Rain...what a glorious thing
The summer weather here in CT has been less than stellar. We wait all year for summer and boating and boy have we been disappointed this year. Rain, rain, and more rain seems to be the trend. Although we've taken advantage of a few nice days for boating, most days have been rainy. Of course, rain never gets a two year old down...this guy can have fun anywhere :)
